Meren, our spa manager, has been a key part of the Ohspa team since 2017. Throughout her years with us, first as front desk attendant, then supervisor and now manager, she has a lighthearted sense of humour that keeps the spa atmosphere positive and upbeat. She also brings years of product, team and operational knowledge to the spa. On her days off, she enjoys decorating the interior of her beautifully picturesque home and hosting friends and family who regularly come to visit the Valley.
Tierney was born and raised in Campbell River with a short period of time spent in Saskatoon. She has a love of everything esthetics! In her free time she enjoys spending time outside in nature, being with her animals as well as being around family and friends.
Tara, our lead esthetician at Ohspa, attended Gina’s College of Advanced Aesthetics in Waterloo, Ontario. Born and raised here in the Valley, she loves camping and spending time with her family and her dog Paisley. Not only can Tara complete a wide range of esthetic services but she also specializes in make-up applications and consultations.
Megan, our spa supervisor, also provides treatments for her clients (whom she calls her VIPs) on select days of the week which are almost always fully booked well in advance! She is originally from Port Hardy and attended school at Vancouver Island University. A resident of the Comox Valley for the last six years, she enjoys camping and gardening. Whisk and Valentine are her beloved cats, and to get even more cat time, she volunteers at Kitty Cat Pals every week! Megan also is passionate about ocean conservation and works part-time with the Marine Education Research Society.
Sara, now in her 30’s, was born and raised in the Comox Valley. She received her diploma from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in August 2018. All 20 months of study and 550 hours of training were fueled by her love of learning about the human body. While she really likes to “fix” muscle related problems, she has treated many conditions and people, including addicts, geriatrics, those with mental disabilities and those in palliative care.
She is trained in Swedish massage, petrissage, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, cranial sacral therapy, joint mobilizations, trigger point release and many more techniques. Spending time with fiancé, family, friends and her two French bulldogs is what she loves to do in her free time.
Chelsea, our front desk spa supervisor, was originally born in Aliston, Ontario but moved to the Comox Valley with her military family when she was four. In addition to earning an honours diplomacy in Business Administration, she has a passion for traveling and is a huge animal lover — specifically dogs. Some of her favourite pastimes outside of work are engaging in team sports and going on hikes with her little rottweiler Freyja.
Veera was born in the South Pacific, in Suva Fiji Islands but grew up in Canada. She attended SAIT (South Alberta Institute of Technology) and completed her certification program in Oil and Gas Production and Revenue Accounting. After owning her own consulting company for more than 20 years, she switched careers in 2006 when she discovered reflexology. Veera fell in love with the benefits of reflexology therapy and is a member of Reflexology Association of Canada and International Reflexology Council. She also completed a 2-year certification program at Mount Royal University. When Veera has spare time, she loves to read, jog, play team sports, beach comb and golf. Word has it, she also has a passion for cooking and creating new receipts.
Originally from St. John’s NL, Lisa came to the West Coast with her husband who is a SAR Tech in the Air Force. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family, walking her dog and will paint just about anything that will stand still. She also is a manicure/pedicurist by trade and loves working in a spa environment. For sure, she’s and Island Girl through and through … from the East Coast to the West Coast!
Jessica was born and raised in the Comox Valley and went to West Coast College, and we have been so lucky to have her be a part of our team for so long! In addition to providing esthetic services, she loves doing relaxation and mommy-to-be massages. In her free time, she loves being outdoors and spending time with her beautiful children.
Teresa was born on the East Coast and moved to Manitoba in during her high school years. Since then, she has slowly migrated her way to the West Coast where she relocated in the summer of 2019. An artist who has lived all across Canada, she has many hobbies including: sewing, baking, nature hikes, and making sure her gremlin of a cat doesn’t escape. When she’s not creating ( She also produces our amazing window scenes, board and marketing art!), she can be found reading a book or napping in sunny fields.
Devin is a mother, nutritionist, massage therapist, Reiki practitioner and esthetician. She graduated from Vancouver Island University and 11 years later, she is still loves her line of work. In her free time, she enjoys singing, dancing and nature walks with her two-year-old daughter, Chloe. We hope you get to experience her professional talent; she will be happy to meet you!
Inspired to become an esthetician while working as our spa attendant, Brianna went on to get her certificate from Vancouver Island University’s Esthetics Program in Parksville. A passionate fan of Eminence Organic Skin Care, she is determined that her clients leave relaxed and satisfied. “Performing a client’s facial is a very personalized service and shows the client that they are being cared for by a trusted professional who has their needs put first; that’s why she loves to identify her client’s skin type before choosing the treatment products. She is extremely interested in Holistic Healing and Traditional Chinese Medicine and believes, to heal the body, you must first heal the mind.
Jennifer, a 17-year experienced esthetician at Ohspa, attended Blanche MacDonald Centre. Hailing from Victoria, she is inspired by nature and is a great photographer. On top of performing esthetic services, Jennifer also does body wraps and relaxation massages.
Lee has been in the Comox Valley for 23 years and has worked at Ohspa for many of them. Her esthetic experience is extensive, and she loves doing relaxation massages, body scrubs, manicures, pedicures among many other services. Mountain biking, hiking and kayaking are all things she loves doing in her free time.
Renata is our Spa Manager and is hugely passionate about the Ohspa team and culture. After relocating from the lower mainland and enjoying a successful career in the airline industry, island life immediately stole her heart. In addtion to managing her dynamic staff and running a multi-faceted business, she enjoys exploring the West Coast, experiencing the solitude of nature and spending time with her friends and family.
Mílo is very proud of his Mexican heritage and has travelled there since he was a baby to visit family. He was born and raised in the Comox Valley with a fond appreciation for the West Coast Island community. In addition to speaking Spanish, Mílo has a passion for French. After studying at North Island College, he worked at a retirement community as a server for five years. Mílo then joined the Ohspa team and continues to enjoy serving clients and brightening the days of others with his amazing smile. Mílo is an ethical vegan as well as an environmentalist. His favorite parts about working at Ohspa are its commitment to being a green spa through its association with organizations such as GreenCircle and Éminence and the family-like energy of the staff.
Shannon attended the West Coast Collage of Massage Therapy in Victoria BC after completing her diploma in the Spa Practitioner program. Shannon moved to Australia for eight years were she enjoyed working at Hopewood Health Retreat where she became the lead trainer in the spa department. She also worked in the health department with the osteopath and naturopath where she learned wonderful techniques to add to her wide range of modalities. Shannon truly understands the importance of bringing an hour of calm into your day, especially as we live in such a fast-paced and stressful world. She looks forwards to giving you an amazing Ohspa treatment!
Casey is part of our front desk team. She’s an island girl and is the mother of four amazing children. She enjoys the balance of home and work and is an outdoorsy girl. She loves interacting with our clients and creating an amazing spa experience for them!
Lydia was originally born in Prince George, and has been living in the Comox Valley since the age of five. Being outdoors has always been a huge part of her life, and this is the perfect place. She moved to Vancouver for seven months to study Nail Technology at Blanche Macdonald Center. She now specializes in natural and artificial nail treatments and she hopes to go back to school to continue to learn new skills. She hopes to provide all her clients with an excellent experience to keep them coming back.
Trevor Wall was born in Thompson, Manitoba and grew up in a small town called Melita. He has been at Ohspa since November 2015 and specializes in relaxation massages. Trevor loves being healthy and enjoys staying active and working out. He loves playing badminton, biking, water sports, doing renovations and spending time at his family cabin.
Dana was born and raised in the Comox Valley. She attended the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, BC and is currently in school doing some upgrading towards her nursing degree. Dana specializes in relaxation massages, sports massages, and body scrubs. Dana describes her massage style as slow deep pressure.
Courtney grew up in Port Alberni and moved to the Comox Valley two years ago. Courtney is a Spa Experience Coordinator with us and is also in her second year of business school at North Island College. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys hiking, being outside and playing with her two cats.
Debra was born in Campbell River and has twenty-five years of experience in aesthetics. The highlight of her career was when she had the opportunity to do aesthetics on a Hollywood movie set. Debra can do many services such as waxing, manicures and pedicures, facials and even relaxation massages.
Mahayla was born and raised in the Comox Valley and attended Alberta Academy Aesthetics. On her downtime, Mahayla enjoys biking and doing yoga. Mahayla specializes in relaxation massages, sports massages and hot stone massages but also performs some aesthetic services as well.
Jessica is from a small area called Pictou County on the east coast. She moved to the Comox Valley almost three years ago and joined our team in September of 2016. She brings her ten plus years of customer service and hospitality experience to the Ohspa Team. Jessica graduated from the Nova Scotia Community College Tourism Management program in Stellarton, NS with the Board of Governors award for excellent grades and outstanding community involvement. She still enjoys being involved in the community and is a member of the Old House Hotel & Spa Success Committee.
Rebecca has been in the Comox Valley for just over a year and resided in Port Hope, Ontario before moving. Although she loved Ontario, Rebecca has always wanted to move to British Columbia and decided that the Comox Valley was the perfect place to begin her journey. Rebecca lived in Ottawa for four years and took the Criminology & Criminal Justice program at Carleton University. Rebecca enjoys travelling, working out, hiking and spending quality time with her golden retriever named Diego.
Courtney started as a nail technician in 2008. She decided she wanted to be able to service her clients more so put herself through aesthetics school in Red Deer at MC College. Courtney has continued to take classes to grow her product and technique knowledge. Manicures and pedicures have always been her passion and because of that Courtney now collects nail polish. She recently moved to Vancouver Island to be with her mom and it has been an incredible experience.
